It helps the student to see science face to face, to understand the processes going on around them every day and to develop in them a hunger to learn more.

Nature study is a style of educating that searches for the principles of science in nature.

The study of science began with philosophers observing things in nature that made them question why.

Awareness Programme

Paschim Banga Vigyan Mancha, Murshidabad district have successfully continuing various awareness programme among the school students, general public in various schools , urban & rural area through out in the district.

Environment & Biodiversity

Environmental issues are an important agenda since the inception of PBVM, Murshidabad district. PBVM, Murshidabad district have been continuously taking different steps for the Better Environment of the district as well as conservation and protection of the biodiversity of nature & Natural Resources. To develop environmental awareness among the students 100 eco-clubs were established in schools throughout the district. PBVM, Murshidabad district took important role for tree plantation, preservation of water bodies and conservation of forest and wild animals since its inception. PBVM, Murshidabad district took continuous efforts for campaign for energy uses and against plastic carry bags, Global warming and unprecedented air pollution and gave recommendations for betterments. Nature study camps are organized to develop environmental awareness among the young.

Sky Watching

Skywatching or skygazing, can be for leisure or an activity of immense excitement when a student has keen interest in amateur astronomy.

Limitless universe is a point of curiosity still today. Many things are yet to be discovered. There are many superstitious believes which are originated from the ignorance of people about the universe. To meet the curiosity and to develop scientific temper Sky Watching desk was formed at the state centre of PBVM, Murshidabad district.

Sky watching through telescope and observing celestial phenomena becomes a popular and regular programme of PBVM, Murshidabad district. Camps are being organized in several districts involving younger people for telescope making, slide show on extraterrestrial phenomena, and night sky watching.

Our science activists with the students of higher classes act as expert to demonstrate experiments on different subjects for different level of students with low cost and easily available materials. Several such groups are now active in every block of PBVM, Murshidabad district in the Vigyan Kendra level.

Covid-19 Awareness Programme

Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases, the PBVM, Murshidabad district a COVID-19 awareness programme throughout the villages & cities of murshidabad district.

The initiative aimed at creating awareness among the people in remote regions regarding the COVID-19 symptoms and protective measures to stem the tide of the pandemic. During the programme, informative lectures were conducted by the doctor and local medical staff over the common symptoms, preventive measures, and management of a COVID infected patient.
